In order to use this method, you will require a USB type - C to USB type A cable as the DualSense uses type C port instead of micro USB like DualShock 4. So once you have this cable, you can follow the steps below in order to connect your PS5 controller to PC using USB. 

  • You have to plug the cable into both the controller and your PC
  • Windows will detect it automatically 
  • In case your PC is Equipped with dedicated USB-C port which is the case of laptops, you could also use a USB -C to USB-C cable. 

Windows 10 and above will automatically detect the controller as compared to previous systems like Windows 7 that will require you to install connectivity drivers.
